From The Ashes… #LabelLove for [PIAS]-Distributed Artists
Over one million CD and vinyl releases were destroyed earlier this week when a North London warehouse [PIAS] operates on behalf of some 165 or so labels burned to the ground during the London riots. Some of the finest independent music-providers around were seriously financially hurt by the fire, and so we’ve decided to join the campaign to encourage people to buy what they can from the affected labels by collecting some of their finest releases of 2011 so far into one SoundCloud playlist. It was far from easy staying within the limit of 22 tracks, which goes to prove just how important a role [PIAS]-distributed labels and acts play right across the indie sector. Enjoy these tunes for now – and remember to spread the #labellove and do whatever you can to help those affected rise from the ashes.

Chairman Kato - No Coincidence
Chairman Kato is a new producer on the London bass music scene who recently joined the ranks of the Pictures Music crew - a roster that also includes the likes of Dark Sky and Seams - for his debut EP, Wildfire.
Wildfire is Chairman Kato’s debut release. It’s a challenging record intelligently crafted from myriad influences pushed though analogue synths and tape machines, distorted and chopped at Kato’s studio on the top floor of an East London Synagogue.
