Throwing Snow - Aspera
Bristol-via-London producer Ross Tones, aka Throwing Snow, runs two labels, Left Blank and A Future Without, in addition to releasing a steady stream of singles and EPs over the last few years. On December 3, Tones releases his latest EP as Throwing Snow, Aspera, via another imprint he’s starting up, the aptly named Snowfall. Throwing Snow’s sound has varied over the past few releases, but on the EP’s title track, he sounds locked in to the hypnagogic sound of arpeggiated synths, coming with something that sounds like a more complicated, darker version of New Jersey producer Com Truise’s own analog dreams.
